The founder Unsen Hashimoto constructed our kiln near Sennyuji temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto and began creating overglaze enamel porcelain. The second generation, Shiroji Katou, trained under the founder Unsen and learnt the potter’s wheel and ceramic decoration before going independent in 1977. We now emulate the classic Sometsuke and Aka-e techniques while paying particular attention to the use of colour and decoration when creating our porcelain.
