“Rakuyaki”, a uniquely Japanese form of ceramics, was born from the ideologies of Rikyu, one of the forefathers of the Japanese tea ceremony. Choraku Ogawa now embodies these inherited practices. He crafts red and black tea bowls, tea ceremony utensils, and sake pots, all without using a potter’s wheel, allowing him to create truly unique ceramics.
