昭和１６年河井武一の長男として生まれ、昭和３７年父のもとにて作陶し併せて大叔父寛次郎に薫陶を得る
Born in 1941 as the eldest son of Takekazu Kawai, in 1962 he became a potter after his father and received instruction from his great uncle Kanjiro.
